Deutsche Telekom Rated “Leader” for M2M Services by Gartner

Deutsche Telekom generally is a well-positioned resident in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant: For the second time in a row now, Deutsche Telekom has been designated as a “leader” also for managed M2M services. Gartner evaluated 11 providers which vary by geographic coverage and breadth of service.
Gartner’s so-called Magic Quadrant ranks competing players in the major technology markets via a uniform set of evaluation criteria. Gartner examines, how well technology providers are executing their stated visions and how well they are performing generally on a given market. In the latest analysis for managed M2M services, Gartner evaluated two strategic areas: “Completeness of Vision” and “Ability to Execute,” while focusing on cellular connectivity and related value-added services.
But what does it mean to be rated a “leader” for managed M2M services? According to Gartner, a “leader” such as Deutsche Telekom invests in the future of the Internet of Things (IoT), performs skilfully and frequently exceeds expectations. Deutsche Telekom has a clear vision on where IoT is going and shapes this market, rather than following it.
This recognition follows up well with Deutsche Telekom’s success story as a pioneer for M2M services. Earlier this year, Analysys Mason also included Deutsche Telekom in an assessment on market leaders based on M2M performance.
