OTE Boosts Cosmote Brand in Greece

Our Greek subsidiary OTE is positioning its mobile unit Cosmote with a unified commercial brand for mobile, fixed-telephony, broadband and IT solutions.

OTE (Hellenic Telecommunications Organization), with about 22,000 employees and almost 4.5 million customers in Greece alone, is already a leading telecommunication group in south-eastern Europe.

Now, OTE aims to position itself with Cosmote as its commercial brand. This will allow customers to clearly perceive Cosmote as an integrated business provider for all their communication needs. The upgraded Cosmote will be a single point of reference offering a comprehensive portfolio for mobile, fixed-line, broadband and professional IT solutions. OTE’s retail network and business customer service will also adopt the Cosmote brand.

Set to be completed in November, the rebranding is an evolutionary step for the OTE group, as it further transforms into a modern and competitive company. The integration of OTE’s fixed and mobile units will also strengthen our position in Greece.

New products
OTE just launched Cosmote Business One, combining fixed and mobile telephony, Internet, cloud technology and smart office services in one solution. Moreover, we are also reinforcing our portfolio in Greece with the technologically advanced Cosmote Business IT Solutions in order to satisfy the needs of our clients. This includes specialised solutions for vertical markets, such as e-health, e-tourism, e-energy projects, as well as M2M and cloud applications. It also encompasses information security services and sophisticated IT integration operations.

Winning streak
OTE has chalked up several big wins recently, including in October the Coca-Cola HBC data centre business for the greek-based company. This €43-million investment will handle business transactions for more than 36,000 employees in 28 countries.

Our colleagues in Greece also successfully implemented an e-prescription project on behalf of the Greek Ministry of Health. The innovation aims to increase the cost-effectiveness and quality of service of Greece’s public healthcare system. Another e-health services project was also successfully completed on behalf of Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki.

Furthermore, OTE upgraded the data centre infrastructure of the National Banks of Greece (NBG) and provided high-level information security services for Interamerican, part of the ACHMEA Group and one of the leading insurance companies in Greece.

Also, at the end of 2014, OTE secured the rights to high-speed mobile frequencies in Greece until 2030. This will enable Cosmote to increase the speed and coverage of its 4G network across the country.

Customer focus
As the local market changes, companies are becoming more demanding in their search for solutions that could minimize their operating expenses and increase productivity. OTE is responding to this by is steadily adopting new technologies and offering new services, such as cloud and M2M applications.

We are continuing to address the unique needs of any company operating in or from Greece: From small businesses to big corporate clients, we are focused on how our communication and IT services can help them succeed.

OTE has been Greece’s “one-stop-shop” for integrated solutions for more than ten years, providing our clients with end-to-end solutions. Upgrading the Cosmote brand will help keep us ahead of the curve.
