Forging the Future at the MWC 2016
More than 100.000 people attended this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) and<br /> Deutsche Telekom used the popular event to showcase several exciting initiatives – from a 5G premiere to a new network alliance – that will enable the next generation of digital services.
Always one of the most important gatherings of the wireless industry each year, the MWC in Barcelona, Spain (Feb. 22-25) didn’t disappoint those hoping for a glimpse of the future. Both Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Höttges and Claudia Nemat, Board Member for Europe and Technology, attended the successful event and took to the stage to offer a peak at what’s in store for consumers and business customers alike.
Not only did Deutsche Telekom become the first wireless provider to unveil a functioning 5G mobile system in Barcelona, it also presented plans for bringing high-speed internet to European air travellers and introduced CloudCPE, a powerful virtual enterprise solution taking traditional fixed line services into the cloud.
We also announced a new global alliance for enterprise customers. NGENA (Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance) will line up Deutsche Telekom with CenturyLink, Reliance and SK Telecom to specifically benefit customers doing international business cross-border. Powered by Cisco technology, it will offer cutting-edge network services after launching in the first half of 2017.
