Deutsche Telekom is taking communication with "things" to a new level

The Internet of Things is currently one of the hottest topics worldwide – and the new NB-IoT technology about to open it up for the mass market. In our WARP NB-IoT program we are looking for NB-IoT pioneers with innovative ideas ready to shake up the IoT world.

Smart waste bins that monitor and send information regarding their fill-level, smart parking sensors or even a baby monitor for bees - those are just a few examples of already existing solutions using Narrowband IoT technology.

In our recently launched WARP NB-IoT Program we are looking for more ideas and exciting use cases taking advantage of NB-IoT technology. The program will be run by hub:raum, Deutsche Telekom’s innovation hub scouting for innovative business ideas with potential to be commercialized on markets across our footprint.

WARP NB-IoT is the follow up program of the NB-IoT Prototyping Hub organized in Bonn, Berlin and Krakow last year. The startups selected during the first edition had the chance to develop the world’s first prototypes based on NB-IoT technology. The first pilot projects involving solutions from the program are already being implemented, as for example in Patras.

What is NB-IoT?

NB-IoT is a narrowband radio technology standard dedicated for Internet of Things devices. It supports the communication of a large number of devices and is designed for use cases requiring low bandwidths, deep indoor penetration and low energy consumption at very low costs. And it’s exactly these properties that are enabling countless new and innovative IoT solutions. Where previously devices and machines couldn’t be connected due to technical limitations or cost concerns, NB-IoT is opening up completely new opportunities and making the mass market Internet of Things possible.

Why to join the program?

WARP NB-IoT is a chance for startups to introduce and develop their ideas around Narrowband-IoT, by acceleration, prototyping and implementation to the market. Startups will profit from unique benefits including access to NB-IoT live network, technical support for prototypes, financial support for pilot projects, potential investment from hub:raum, as well as the chance to make a trial deal with real customers – potentially followed by commercial implementation in our European footprint.

With the commercial launch of NB-IoT networks in Netherlands and Germany and pilots across the CEE region we are ready to take communication with and amongst things to the next level. Join us on this journey!
